A Stunning Swinfen Hall Wedding
Posted on 10th March 2015
Foster Photographers are always thrilled to photograph a Swinfen Hall wedding and we were delighted to have the opportunity to do so again recently for the beautiful wedding of Rebecca and Michael in early December. The happy couple had a lovely bright day for their church service at St Andrews Church Thringstone Leicestershire followed by a reception at Swinfen Hall Staffordshire. This is a venue we are very familiar with as we have covered many weddings at this stylish Staffordshire venue over the years as professional wedding photographers. The country church was close to the brides heart and used by her family for many years. The small church is set back from the road side and was a picture perfect setting for the wedding and a lovely backdrop for the wedding photographs made even better by the sun shining on the church doorway as the bridal party arrived.

We set off from the church after the ceremony to Swinfen Hall. Arriving for their Swinfen Hall wedding reception you cannot fail to be impressed by the long sweeping drive up to the Georgian manor house of this very popular Staffordshire wedding venue. We could see the sign hanging on the door as we approached that said Mrs and Mrs Lockett 2nd December 2011 so we knew we were in the right place. Swinfen Hall is a beautiful wedding venue and in the winter the log fires are set for guests to enjoy as they take part in the drinks reception.
When Rebecca and Michael arrived we shot some images of them both inside Swinfen Hall and outside. The sun was shining which made for some lovely images by the front door of the Hall, always a feature for the photographs. After a few images outdoors we went inside with the bride and groom and the children at the wedding grabbed their Christmas presents from under the tree and retreated to the children’s play room for some fun of their own while the adult guests enjoyed reception drinks followed by their wedding breakfast in the ballroom.
The ballroom looked particularly stunning with Swinfen Hall’s signature Christmas tree in the corner of the room and candles on the tables creating a wonderful atmosphere for the bridal party to enjoy.

After the meal the bride and groom cut their wedding cake and proceeded to the speeches. The Speeches are always a favourite with us as they are natural and spontaneous, allowing us to capture from fantastic natural moments full of emotion and fun. We like to preserve the natural warm colour of a candle lit winter wedding and sitting with the guests means we blend into the background.
The evening party was one we had been looking forward to as the bride and groom had booked Benny Lee and the Whistle Stop five band, fab! Guaranteed to get the place jumpin!… We were not disappointed and we were rewarded with great photographs of the evening party….book this band for your wedding …..you have to they are that good!

A little about Swinfen hall
Swinfen Hall was built in 1755 by Benjamin Wyatt for a family of three and 55 servants. No expense was spared in the construction and although historians may view it as a magnificent example of Georgian architecture, we would simply describe it as the most beautiful wedding venue in Staffordshire and the West Midlands. During the summer months a Champagne reception can be held on the terrace overlooking the gardens and ornamental ponds with rolling views of our private deer park and the lake beyond. This picturesque setting makes a lovely backdrop for photographs and a stunning start to your special day.
Winter weddings also have their charm, with soft candlelight, glittering chandeliers and log fires crackling in the grates. During December, the hotel is swathed in festive Victorian garlands and a 20-foot Christmas tree lights up the ballroom. The Hotel is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships and renewal of vows, thus providing a complete service. There are a variety of rooms available for the wedding breakfast from a private dining room for 10-20 guests to the ballroom which will comfortably seat 50-110 guests. Swinfen Hall have a dedicated Weddings Manager who will help you with the planning of your dream wedding .
